We had the pleasure of joining more than 10,000 other rock aficionados at Wembley Arena in London this Saturday for the Marshall 50 Years of Loud event.
The three-and-a-half hour rockfest was hosted by broadcaster and comedian Al Murray, and a lengthy roster of rock and roll royalty came out to celebrate the life and work of revolutionary amp pioneer, Jim Marshall.
Among the legends who teamed up to perform special renditions of classic anthems were members of Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, The Cult, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple and more.
The line up included guitarists Kerry King, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteem, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Doug Aldrich, and Phil Campbell, bass players Billy Duffy and Andy Fraser, drummers Brian Tichy, Mike Portnoy and Nicko McBrain and singers Corey Taylor, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens and Glenn Hughes.
The man who gave life to the amps, Jim Marshall, who sadly passed away earlier this year, was not forgotten. Near the end of the show, Joe Satriani dedicated 'Always With Me Always With You' to Jim.
A night – and anniversary – to go down in the books.
