While you may come to Insula Music to spend an hour poring over its well-curated record selection, full of the likes of Swans, Myrkur and Suicide, you’ll stay for the community vibe. Insula Music regularly hosts free live shows by passionate, emerging local musicians, and the owner doesn’t shy away from serving up tasty treats to make everything even more welcoming (in the winter months, mulled wine makes a regular appearance).
Best of all, Insula Music is located very centrally, in the middle of Blågårdsgade, a walking street in the heart of Nørrebro. It’s the neighbourhood’s finest place for musician watching, beer sampling and craft-store exploring. Once you’ve spent more money than you intended on rare records, head out to grab a happy-hour refreshment at one of the many outdoor bars, or take a walk past the grocery stores, cozy cafés and arty bookshops.
