"The Stanmore won't burn your pocket, but it sure will kick your A** !"

knockout piece of kit for the money....I've had a Bose portable for several years over here in the uk, and it's the business, but when I heard the Stanmore over in a dealer's store at my place in Eastern Europe, I was knocked out by it and had to buy it.
It's rugged, looks great and sounds awesome.
Blues and Rock is my thing, and the Stanmore does the business really well on either genre....I even had it hitched up to the AV system in my home and watched the classical movie "Shine" and the soundtrack sounded amazing.
Ok, so it's not portable, unless you are prepared to get yourself an Invertor / Battery combo, but that's not the point...it's about what you get for your money.
I found the advertised spec a lil bit vague though, being a bit of a nitpicker about finer tech, in particular the audio output rating, as Watts doesn't actually mean anything unless you define it in terms of its scaling ... it's buried in the tech blurb that comes with the Stanmore and yup, it's proper Watts, the watts that Rory Gallagher n Angus Young knew and loved...it's Watts RMS (don't fall for that old Watts Peak to Peak stuff, there's a hell of a difference!)
Bluetooth works amazingly well, virtually no discernable distortion at all and the Stanmore picks up my phone no problem from almost 10 metres away, pairing couldn't be easier too.
It's got great style and really impressive build quality, well solid construction, weighty and meaty and built to take the blows (I should know, I've humped many a Marshall set up around gigs for many a year !)
Interested to know how well it would perform using an external preamp via line in as a mini guitar amp...Rory Gallagher used to gig with a single VOX AC30 miked up to the PA system and other small amps like the Pignose have been around for a long time too, (eg as per The Wiley Brothers guitar sound and others) so maybe this could be another use for the Stanmore ?

I'm impressed, and so is my kid going to be, as I've just forked out today for ANOTHER one for his 16th Birthday later this week.

    "Best BT-speaker for retro looking kitchens! Apx-t + RCA-INPUT = MAJOR pros!"

In my opinion the best of MARSHALL's BT-speakers. Lives up to the Marshall-image - in the grade it's possible for a speaker of this size. I was a great releafe after owning their Major Crap Head-Z's. Reason I don't rate higher is probably their Class D (digital type of amp.) choice of amplification. The bass + party-ratio are among the best of this Class. BUT the Class D chip doesn't have enough separation between frequencies, instruments or channels (impossible due to lack of space between drivers). Apx-t is an excellent choice to implement in the BT-reciever of this device! Actually gives the opportunity for wireless SQ compared to CD's! I'm also a great fan of the RCA INPUT, & very curious if the Marshall would bypassed a DAC. WONDERING HOW 2 OF THESE PAIRED TOGETHER WOULD'VE PERFORMED? BOTTOM LINE_very cool for kitchens and hobby-room. NOT PORTABLE, AND DEFINITELY NOT EVEN CLOSE TO SURVE YOU AS THE "Z-UP" OF EVEN THE TINIEST STUDENT DORM! TO SEPERATE 1/2-ACTIVE SPEAKERS FOR 40% LESS MONEY, WILL GIVE A BETTER SQ, BUT MABY NOT THIS FANCY DESIGN. MY EYES LACK THE ABILITY TO HEAR MUSIC - LITA OF OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE THE EXACT IDENTICAL SPEC'S REGARDING THEIR EYES. ANYWAY - SHOOT A MARSHALL MAJOR TODAY₹-)
