"Simply awesome!!"
I tried out the Stanmore in a music store and cranked up the volume. The speaker filled up the store with mind blowing rock music. For such a compact speaker, it certainly filled up the room - and had plenty in reserve. There was no distortion and you could play with the bass and treble to suit. Brilliant - John

"Following the road less traveled marshall chose to make a great speaker, Stay with a time tested design and built an amazing speaker "
CUSTOMER SERVICE- You cannot beat them my personal experience i purchased a stanmore speaker out of town. 6 months and the bluetooth quit working. I didn't have a receipt,
Box and had paid cash. I emailed marshall to ask is there anything that can be done. They told me if i pay shipping to and from there authorized repair facility it will be repaired. To me that's impressive and a company who stands behind there product.
BUILD QUALITY- Attention to detail is well thought out and executed. Its something you can see and feel it has weight it doesn't have cheap craftsmanship. Its a plastic box with pretty lights. Its heavy and really well made.
SOUND- That's why we buy it. I absolutely love it. I had a full audio surround bose 701. And bose rear speakers. Klipsch ceiling speakers. Boston acoustic sub. When i was in the army i kept buying different speakers stepping up. Changing sizes. Choosing what works at at one place now doesn't work at another. Moved alot. My last was powered with a yamaha forget model but it wasn't the best or walmart bottom end. I had to build slow. It sounded good for what i could afford. There's a certain sound or quality i appreciate. Its maybe my own but its what i like. My reciever went out and i got the marshall as really a stand in until i could afford to buy a mctonish reciever. My living room farrari. Then keep upgrading. SORRY THIS IS LONG. So what happened was. I put in the marshall thought this will work until i get my reciever. Its rich, its deep the vocals are crisp and i just liked it then began to love the simplicity of it. Then we found out we are having a baby Sure your going to see bad reviews. MARSHALL can't make everyone happy in today's world. Some people complain about not enough sprinkles on there ice cream. That's just reality. I'm going to complain in a bit if you keep reading. To me now with children I still want THAT SOUND. A sound to me that is so good and well rounded. You just want to listen to music. Raining outside and it makes me happy having this. Its not going to compete with everything, Its not going to be better than some peoples other brand loyal fans. What it will do is stay true to what marshalls good at and make a good quality speaker system which produces rich room filling sound. Its simple and does its purpose. Now my daughter shes a little bitty that likes to dance she will sing with good vocals and dance she really likes when there is a little bass to it. Its a part of our home we love. Now and probably will keep this in our family room. One day ill get the other prioritys just change a bit.
NEGATIVE- I told y'all i would complain a bit. I do wish it had a remote so i could control volume when connected to the tv. The next is i wish the woburn had bluetooth connectivity when i was buying was told it did not so i bought the stanmore. Kinda like you love your car but wish you could have bought the bigger motor and nicer version that was available next year kinda thing. Wish manufacture was in US, UK. Germany or Japan. The speaker is exceptional as is but these nations pride themselves on quality. China i wish were not where it was build.
That's my complaints but not many.
RELIABILITY AND PLAYING DIFFERENT MUSIC- I have had this speaker 3 years now. I have a 2 year old girl. 10 year old son and a 15 year old niece that visits. They loved coming to my home to watch movies my niece said it sucks uncle Bobby you don't have the theater stuff hooked up. We watched a movie later she enjoyed. Then i let them pick music to listen to and it was nice. For christmas i got her marshall headphones. She was on top of the world.

"Broken Marshall Stanmore Speakers Finally Have a Fix!"
I received a beige Stanmore Marshall speaker about 4 years ago for Christmas when they were new. After a couple years of use, it stopped working one day. Whether plugged in via BlueTooth or aux-in, with the volume all the way up, you could only hear the faintest whisper of sound coming out if you put your ear right next to it. A speaker repair shop couldn't figure it out. It became a pretty thing on the shelf for a couple years. Then about a month ago I saw that Marshall finally had what seemed like a customer support contact page. I decided to see what could be done and reached out. They told me because I was out of warranty, my option was to ship their repair vendor my speaker (just the speaker, not the cords) out of pocket, and then they would repair it for free as a special out of warranty repair, and then I would have to pay for the return shipping. I had to have it packed in a box around the speaker, then place that box in a larger box surrounded by packing material, with some other instructions about including the order number they gave me on a piece of paper as well as on the boxes. After a couple weeks, the repair was finished and they sent an invoice to be paid to have it sent back. It just came in, and is working beautifully! I'm so happy I held onto it as a pretty decoration for 2.5 years! Ended up costing me about $80 total having it shipped both ways but I had considered throwing it out before, so I'm really happy they finally got their repair system worked out for those of us who had the first version that broke on so many of us.

"Meh"
Speaker itself has amazing sound quality. My problem? After a little over 2 years it just quit working. I have been emailing customer service for the past 2 years about having it fixed (me paying for it) but they don’t have an out of warranty repair service in place. Eyeroll!

"Buyer Beware"
Buyer Beware! I loved this speaker. Great looking and incredible sound!
The problem...it failed after 2 years and Zound cannot provide any avenue to repair at this time, even at my expense. A quick search will show issues like mine aren't uncommon.
I expected longer life and better service from a product at this price point.

Big and clear sound, great and ideal influence on my house. My wife and I LOVE it.

"Amazing sound awful Bluetooth "
Loving how it sounds, how beautiful the low frequencies sound, but having serious problems with the Bluetooth.
Hope it is just because I didn’t charge before turning it on with electric cable plugged..

I've had one of these for a while now and it's amazing. Although I regret not buying a kilburn instead for the portability

"A+"
I returned my Marshall Acton and bought a Black Stanmore. The sound is absolutely amazing. I lay on my leather couch in basement and stream jazz Internet radio via Bluetooth from iPhone to Stanmore. Amazing. I have a very expensive ultra high end stereo siting beside it. My high end stereo, Wilson Sabrina speakers, Pass Labs INT-60, Bryston BCD-3, Pono Hi Rez player, PS Audio P10, Slitech Royal Signature Prince Speaker cable, Siltech Royal Signature Ruby Mountain || Power cable, Siltech Royal Signature Ruby Hill || Power Cable, Siltech Royal Signature Princess XLR - XLR Interconect cable, PS Audio P12 Power cable, Cardas 1/8" mini jack from Pono player to XLR PASS Lab INT-60, and a 20 amp dedicated power line. To me, for casual listening, the Marshall Stanmore is great. For serious listening, I power up my Pass Labs INT-60. DON'T HESITATE, THE STANDMOTE IS INCREDIBLE AND WORTH EVERY PENNY. Thanks. SILTECH

"Happy "
I had a Beats XL that was everyting to me but there was a recall on it. After a month of reading reviews and going to stores and testing bluetooth speakers I ended up with the Marshall and could not be happier. The the style is timeless, the ease of using it is very good, the different inputs gives variety, the ability to adjust the treble and bass are cool and the pièce de résistance is the sound which is second to none. I have a 4400 sq. ft. home and my Marshall is on stairwell landing of the first and second floor and on 6 it fills the house and loses nothing. The only things that I do miss with the XL is the portability and being able to charge my phone but other than that VERY VERY VERY happy.

"Just buy it"
Had one on these for a couple of years. Bought it for AV presentations as a lot of venues I lecture at have good projectors but rarely a loud enough audio. Excellent when driven by a MacBook via the cable or Bluetooth. Then took it down the pub to get the six nations rugby commentary audible to 100 Welsh fanatics - held its own. Then used it for a backing track at a wedding for a 20 person men's choir when our accompanyist couldn't make it. So it is both loud and high quality. The ultimate test was pink floyd's Dark Side of the Moon in a large lounge. Unbelievable quality and bass from such a compact unit. So just buy it!

"Amazing"
The sound is AMAZING!!! Use it everyday with my iPhone and pc. I don't know how I went so long without this device. Only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is I wish it was portable like the kilburn.
